Old friends, near and far…

    Last week a few friends came into town at the same time. Times like these that bring a smile to my face and appreciate the good times. Yushi from Japan with Bunta and Kazayoshi, the Christy brothers, who are now playing guitar and bass for the English Dogs, and last but not least, Jason Jesse.

A day in the life at Blackheart tattoo SF…

Ever have that perfect moment, Amazing visual, perfect song, ect ect? The last time I had this feeling almost exactly was at night on this very same bridge, but 12 years ago digital cameras, much less camera cell phones had not come into play. It left me to think of things to come, a time that has passed and friends that I miss all in less than a second….

 

 

 

 

The man behind what was to become one of the most important era’s in music history. When no one else wanted to touch the taboo of punk rock, he saw the light and brought it to the kids who are now adults bringing their kids, and so on and so on. I wonder what it would have been had this not happened, especially being lucky enough to grow up in southern california. All weekend long was spent with old friends who were also there when we were kids, telling stories, remembering friends present and those no longer among the living. Special thanks to Gary Tovar for what you gave us…

Just a few pics from last weekend in Los angeles. Crazy amounts of old friends and great music. Hard to beat but I gave it a shot.

Just to be clear….

When I think of People who have contributed to the Tattoo Community, Artists, Collectors, Business people, one name of a very short list comes to mind, Miki Vialetto from Italy, organizer of the London Tattoo Convention, Milan Tattoo Convention, and mastermind of the best Tattoo magazines out there, Tattoo Life, Tattoo Energy, not to mention a wide array of books from the best tattooers.

So as it has happened here in the United States numerous times over, there is someone trying to piggyback his future on some one else’s achievements. I don’t know anyone who puts the time and effort into organizing a Tattoo event as much as Miki has, for the artists as well as the fans.

This being said, and without any other rhetoric involved, There is the one and only LONDON TATTOO CONVENTION, the first, biggest and the best. Please do not confuse, mistake or be tricked in any way that it has anything to do with “the great british tattoo show”. 75 years in prison for videotaping police…

99% of jobs are pretty much based on accountability. You don’t do the job right, you lose your job. Simple. The law enforcement of today are now under the eye of the people, and not enough from their own superiors, and now they feel threatened? Not the other thousands of tunnels from Mexico to US or the thousands of loose guns in our country. they are worried about the general population videoing them as they work on public streets that you and I pay to use every day, not to mention that we pay their wages as well… Something to think about.
